Rat Pack Bar-b-que

This month's Rat Pack dinner was hosted by Jimmy Pharr at his Clubhouse in Ferris, TX.  (We found out he is the prez of this clubhouse)  Those in attendance were Scott Phares,  Jimmy Pharr, Mary Pipes Bills, Gayla Goolsby Mitchell, Stephanie Stanley, Beverly Ashley Davis, Paula Machen Hartsell,  Linda Robinson Clark, Christine Suggs, and several of Jimmy's friends and club members.

Paula made a "DISD Chess Pie".  Remember those chess pie's we used to get in school?  ...........same pie!  It was scarfed up quickly too!  She sent me the recipe, which I have posted below.

As you can see in my pictures, there was a lot of neon and someone.......ummmm, we won't mention any names, changed the shutter speed on my camera, so the pictures are bright, some blurry and no, Mary does not have green hair!

Anyway, we had a great time and wish to thank Jimmy and everyone else that helped in getting this dinner together.  They are a great bunch of people!  One more thing........we all wish that more of you would come to these dinners!!!

DISD Chess Pie

1 1/2 Cups Sugar

1 1/2 Tablespoons Cornmeal

1/2 Cup Melted Margerine

3 Whole Eggs

1 Teaspoon Vinegar

1 Teaspoon Vanilla

1/4 Cup of Milk

Mix sugar and cornmeal. Add melted margerine and mix thoroughly. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each. Add liquids and mix well. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done.
