Fondest Senior Memory: Driving a red MGA and anything to get out of going to school: assemblies, parades, football games, feeding puppies, 7th period work permit, skipping Fridays with Gary Wright.
The Real Me: I was alot more adventurous than most people knew. I still am.
Benefit/Waste: Benefit: You can have anything you want if you're willing to work for it. Waste: Senior English class right after lunch. Conjugating verbs in Mrs. Plexco's Spanish class.
Learned After Graduation: College really does help you get a good job and deciding what is really important in life.
Looking Back: I wouldn't want to go back and start over. Life just gets better all the time.
People Will/Will Not Recognize Me: Probably will, but I wear bifocals now and I've changed my hair color to gray. I've also put on 20lbs since high school but I needed it.

Hey Janet-
Thanks for writing. It's good to hear from you. I've been in Alaska for the
past 18 years and I think I'll stay, I love it here, well maybe not so much
in the winters anymore. I'm trying to retire but they want me to stay and
work so we'll see what happens. I work up at Prudhoe Bay in the oil field as
an engineer, supervisor, and whatever else they need. It's right on the
coast of the Arctic Ocean in northern Alaska but it's not as bad as it
sounds. It's a good place to work. It does get down to 50F below zero in the
winter and the sun is down for 66 days, but we have good heaters and the
nice summers make up for it. Right now it's 40F and really beautiful
outside. No need for air conditioning. The sun set the last time on May 20th
and won't go down again until July 23. I work a week-on, week-off schedule
for a total of 22 weeks a year with vacations. Best part-time job I ever
had!

On my weeks off, I enjoy exploring Alaska and spend alot of time flying,
fishing, hunting, and just enjoying being up here. It's kinda like being in
a dream all the time. Alaska is as civilized as a person wants. I enjoy
roughing it in the bush but also hit the "big city" (pop. 250,000) on a
regular basis. Anchorage has everything "Lower 48" cities have but you can
be in pure wilderness in ten minutes in a plane. I really like that about
Alaska.

Yes, I'll be there for the reunion. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Already
have a room reserved at the Holiday Inn in Desoto and I mailed Don my dinner
reservation yesterday. I'll be coming alone. I've been single since 1986 and
will probably stay that way unless the "perfect" lady happens to come along.
Anyway I'm enjoying life and really look forward to seeing everyone.

I got the web info from Tim Pugliese and Gary Wright at about the same time.
I called Tim because I was getting worried I might miss the reunion since I
hadn't heard anything. He got the info to me the same day Gary emailed with
it. It's a nice site and brings back many memories. Thanks for writing and
sending the info anyway.

We'll have to catch up more at the reunion. I'll include a photo taken this
summer about 150 miles southwest of Anchorage.

See ya-
Richard
