LERA MAY POWELL PYLANT passed Nov. 23, in Denton, TX.. Born Roanoke, VA July
8, 1923. She was an active volunteer and member of the Church of Christ.
Graduated Roanoke College 1944, earned MS from TWU 1974. After serving in
the Army, she married and relocated to Dallas, TX, where she taught science
at Sunset, South Oak Cliff and Kimball HS's. Lera was Worthy Matron of
Electa Ch .#33, Order of the Eastern Star, and Royal Matron of Roanoke
Valley Court #13, Order of the Amaranth. She was twice elected Grand Rep. of
VA. She is survived by her 2 children, 5 grand-children, and 4
great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all of her loved ones in
VA and TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Amer.
